Which verification badge is relevant to me?

Just to make it clear there are two forms of verifications - the blue or grey badge.

The blue badge is much harder to get than the grey badge and it is not possible for everyone to obtain. We will cover that process in a separate blog.

In this blog, we will focus on the simple route to verifying your business page with a grey badge, which is pretty straightforward.

Why should we bother doing this in the first place?

The benefits of having a verified page for local businesses are as follows:

Legitimacy

A key benefit of the verification check mark is that it will signify to users that your business Facebook page is legitimate. So if an unauthorised person creates an imposter page for your business, the lack of this badge will signal to users the page may not be authentic.

Credibility

Beyond legitimacy the verified grey badge shows the grey badge implies credibility and stature, helping customers feel more confident when they engage with you on Facebook.

Customer Service

If users want to talk directly to your business about complaints, returns, or general customer service needs, they’ll know they’re in the right place.

SEO

It helps your Facebook page to rank higher in search engine results (SERPs). It’s also good from a local SEO perspective.
